2018 Summer Reading Program: “Reading Takes You Everywhere!”

Our summer reading program is for children who are age 1 through those who have just completed grade 6, so it is for listeners as well as readers. Children are not required to have a library card.

Participants will receive a bag, a bookmark, and a reading record form on which they will list the books they read or the time they spend reading during the summer. Parents of pre-school children will record the titles of books that they read to their children.

Children may collect the 1st level prize after reading 12 books (or a total of 6 hours) and the 2nd level (final) prize after reading 24 books (or a total of 12 hours). For the best selection of prizes, children should collect them as soon they reach their goals. Children may not repeat the program.

Special programs will be offered on most Wednesdays and Saturdays in June and July. Please check the children’s section of the library’s web site and posters in the children’s department for information about the programs. All programs are free. Some events might require registration.
