Weekly Programs:


Preschool story times: Tuesday & Friday: 10:30 a.m.; Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.

Story times are for children ages 2 and older and their families or caregivers.
Location: Children’s Activity Room. No Registration. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Lap Sit every Monday at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. in the children’s activity room, first floor.
This program is for babies, toddlers, and their parents or caregivers. Make new friends, listen to simple stories, and learn finger plays and songs with Miss Amanda, our lap sit leader.

*** No lap sit on September 4 (Labor Day holiday) or on September 18th ***

Lego Builders Club

Saturday, September 9: 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Walnut & Elm Rooms

          Children in preschool through grade 6 will have the opportunity to build with the library’s collection of Lego blocks. Children who are ages 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. No fee or registration. The structures the children make will be on display in the lobby of the library, near the elevator, for about 3 weeks after the club meets.

          Come and build and have fun!

Global Fest

Morton Center & the Library
Saturday, September 16th
Time: Noon to 10 p.m.
***Family activities will be from noon to 7 p.m.***

Crafts: Library: Walnut & Elm Rooms on the 2nd floor
Stories: Children’s area of the library

Note: North Chauncey Ave. between the library and Morton Center will be closed. Check the library 's website home page for places to park.

Reading to the Bunny & Dogs!

Saturday, September 23rd: 2 to 3 p.m.
Registration required by Friday, September 22nd, at 6 p.m.

Walnut & Elm Rooms, 2nd floor

          Presented by members of Caring Paws. Come and read to a certified therapy bunny or dog. Readers should bring a book from home or select one when they arrive at the library. This program is for children ages 4 and older.
          Register at the children’s desk or by phone. Registration will begin on Sept. 1.

Special Story Time & Craft for Families
Sunday, September 24
Children’s Activity Room
2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

          Listen to stories about books and libraries and make a small book.

          Check the adult webpage for information about an author visit, book signing, and book making activity for adults and children in 4th grade and older on the same day in the Walnut & Elm rooms.




Halloween Craft Day for Families

Saturday, September 30th: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Walnut & Elm Rooms, 2nd floor

          Our Halloween Craft Day is for children ages 2 and older and their families or caregivers. (An adult must stay with children who are 8 or younger.) There will be a selection of crafts to make to decorate your homes for Halloween, including paper Jack-O’ Lanterns, witches, cats, ghosts, bats & banners.
          No registration or fee. Come and be creative and have fun!
